What’s new at the library? Well, we now have 10 chess sets and a regular group of Magnet Students engaged in friendly lunchtime competition.
- Book Club meets every Thursday. We are planning on future fundraisers and events. One thing everyone would enjoy doing is visiting Gledhill Elementary on a regular basis to read to the kids.
- I am continuing the “Library Outreach” Program during Advisory and students seem to enjoy the Book Talks. I am now visiting the 600’s and 700’s giving a basic ninth grade orientation.
- Library Practice students are creating e-portfolios that are available for viewing from the library website. Most of the LP students are 12th graders and it is hoped this assignment will help them transition from school to work.
- Some of the programs students are working with are Blogger, Wikispaces, Google Groups, Google Sites, Imovie, Garageband and Voicethread. It is hoped that they will be able to use these technologies in collaborating and sharing with others.
